Description

The fisheries sector in Bangladesh plays a significant role in the national economy, contributing 3.50 percent to the GDP and 25.72 percent to the total agricultural GDP (BER, 2019). This sector provides employment opportunities for more than 14.7 million fish farmers across the country. The OneFish App aims to directly and indirectly benefit these fish farmers by offering a range of services and features.

With the OneFish App, fish farmers will have access to valuable advisory services, a feed calculator, FCR optimization tools, feed preparation recipes, best management practices (BMP), weather forecasts, and direct Q&A support. This comprehensive support system will enable farmers to improve their farming practices, leading to increased productivity and enhanced livelihoods.

Furthermore, the app will provide fish farmers with the opportunity to engage in commercial advertising of their products. It will serve as an online platform for feed companies, medicine companies, hatcheries, nurseries, and fish farmers to buy and sell their products. This inclusive marketplace will benefit all stakeholders involved and foster growth and development within the aquaculture and fisheries sector.

By facilitating daily business transactions and serving as a dynamic platform, the OneFish App will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the digital online business platform for the fisheries sector. It aims to unite all relevant stakeholders and promote the overall success and sustainability of the aquaculture and fisheries industry in Bangladesh.
